MEET THE ECCC CONSULTING TEAM
EXECUTIVE SEARCH CONSULTING
Includes working with bishop, board or search committee to develop a search profile, process, and timeline, and may include collaborating on a job description, phone interviews, reference checks, and in-person interviews.
SITE & FACILITIES ASSESSMENT
Includes a tour of all buildings, utilities and program facilities (i.e. pools, ropes courses, etc.). Consultants will look at conditions, usage, and location of buildings as it relates to existing programming, guest groups, and future needs.
GENERAL OPERATIONS ASSESSMENT
Include site and facility assessment, as well as a review of mission statement and other guiding documents, finance and business systems, staffing model, and risk management.
PROGRAM ASSESSMENT
Includes review of mission, values, current programming, objectives and outcomes, staff training, budgets, and program space. Consultants will facilitate program leadership in a process to consider factors like program quality, relationships with the diocese, parishes, and local communities, and risk management.

Consultants facilitate a collaborative process that helps centers set direction and establish priorities for their ministry, defining your organization’s view of success and prioritizing activities that will make this view your reality. The strategy will help your organization clearly identify what to work on and prioritize.

Brian N. Prior: Prioritize Coaching
About our Coach: Brian N. Prior is owner of Prioritize Coaching and has spent over 25 years coaching people in prioritizing their purpose, passion, and potential. Brian is a certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation and a coach / leader with the Academy of Artful Leadership. His broad portfolio of experience with individuals and organizational leadership development includes religious, non-profit, health care, and education contexts. Brian is a Bishop in the Episcopal Church, Vice Chair of the Episcopal Church Pension Board, serves as Chair of the Episcopal Camps and Conference Center’s Visionary Council, as a board member of the Absalom Jones Center for Racial Healing, the HUB Sports Center, and has helped start two non-profits for education and recreation. He discovered his passion for coaching first as a camp counselor and then as the camp’s executive director, and has provided coaching, consulting, and program development for numerous camp and conference centers. Brian’s coaching experience also includes a long history of coaching girls’ high school basketball.
Joe Merlino: Emergent mission
Joe Merlino is principal of Emergent Mission, a consulting and coaching firm that works with Episcopal faith communities to deepen diocesan, community, alumni and donor relationships in ways that directly impact their fundraising, fee-based revenue, and institutional advancement goals. Joe’s expertise lies in delivering interpersonal engagement strategies that intersect the need for funding with the call to nurture meaningful value-added relationships that engender a deep appreciation and enthusiasm for participating in the work of your ministry through giving. Joe’s areas of expertise lie in capacity building, cultivating sustainable donor relationships, and fundraising. His approach is grounded in the theologies of mission, relationship, pastoral care and stewardship. Joe has formal consulting relationships with Episcopal Young Adult and Campus Ministries and the National Association of Episcopal Schools. He also serves as membership chair on the board of Community Of Hope International. Prior to founding Emergent Mission, Joe spent 30 years working in the for-profit sector in executive leadership and business development roles focusing on value-based growth strategies, program development and customer experience. He holds a BS in Systems Analysis and Design from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA and an MA in Practical Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.

Rates begin at $995 per day, per consultant, plus travel costs.
